Description
The course is about how healthcare organizations (e.g., hospitals, clinics) operate as systems of
complex business processes and their relationship to the information systems that underlie effective and efficient operational outcomes. The E-health record system will be presented as a tool for managing care and quality. The student will learn methods and tools critical to the smooth functioning of complex health care organizations. Students will apply these concepts to real-life case studies from their experience to learn how to analyze operational problems and develop optimal solutions. The course emphasizes the development of analytical skills, through which students learn the value of being able to critically and creatively understand and apply information.
