Description
This course is a comprehensive overview of nutrition support therapy throughout the life cycle. Students will explore both core nutrition support topics (key nutrients, nutrient deficiencies, nutrition prescription, fluids, electrolytes) and specialty areas of nutritional support (critical care, home care, neonatal, GI, and ethics). Students will also complete a blenderized tube-feeding lab. Prerequisites: Pre-req classes required to enter the IMSND program as described in bulletin, RD/RDN status, or approval from instructor.
