Description
An in-depth study of topical themes, issues and events that affect curricular development in K-12
schools. Focus placed on literature, contemporary practices in the communicative arts, integrated studies, and high-order thinking in the classroom. Readings are drawn from a single theme. The course may be repeated for credit with a change in the topic. Themes include the Holocaust, civil rights, censorship, award-winning books, and women?s issues.
