Description

This survey course combines critical thinking and mathematical skills applicable to personal and social issues.
Topics include logic and problem solving; number sense and estimation; statistical interpretation and basic
probability; interpreting mathematical models; and further applications to the use of mathematics in politics and
business. Enrollment in this course is determined by the mathematics placement test. A grade of ?C? or better is
required to meet the college mathematics competency requirement.
