Description
The course will provide the knowledge and skills to conduct and interpret a holistic assessment as the foundational step in the nursing process. Upon completion of the course, the nurse will have the knowledge and skills necessary to perform a comprehensive focused health assessment. The use of therapeutic communication, interviewing and observational skills, inspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation skills will be examined. The physical, behavioral, spiritual, psychosocial, developmental, and cultural impact on the patient and social unit will be considered. Prerequisites: BIO 100, BIO 234, BIO 235, NUR 114 (Equivalent to previous course NUR 201). Co-requisites NUR 200L, NUR 261. Approximate Fee:$42.00
