Description

This course provides nursing students with the foundational knowledge and skills to care for adult patients with common medical and surgical conditions. The course emphasizes the use of the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and musculoskeletal issues. Students will focus on QSEN competencies such as patient-centered care, teamwork and collaboration, evidence-based practice, safety, and informatics. The course integrates theoretical learning with simulation to enhance clinical practice, preparing students to provide high-quality, safe care in diverse healthcare settings while fostering the critical thinking and communication skills necessary for effective nursing practice. Prerequisite: NUR 261, NUR 262, NUR 249; NUR 249C, NUR 249L. Corequisites: NUR 350C, NUR 350L, NUR 319.
