Description

This comprehensive course highlights and continues previously learned concepts of patient-centered, and holistic nursing care of complex patients, families and children in compromised situations with unpredictable outcomes. The course highlights nursing care of childbearing families using both nursing and developmental theories related to pregnancy, birth and newborn periods. Continuing into the life span a family centered approach to the health promotion, acute and chronic health conditions and rehabilitative needs of children. This culminates with the nurse's role in management of the complex health alterations within the health system, the community, and for transitions to home. Builds on psychomotor skills necessary to provide safe nursing care in acute settings. Prerequisites: NUR 350 NUR 351A, B, C NUR 358; Corequisites NUR420, NUR432.
