Description

The course explores how social systems shape human experience (and humans shape social structures), investigating the historical roots and contemporary drivers of inequality, and examining both the social construction and structural dimensions of race, class, and gender. Students will gain a deeper understanding of their own lived experiences, critically look at the social and cultural forces that have shaped them, and learn about a range of contemporary social issues through a sociological lens.
