Description
This course in the child and family specialty focus area examines perspectives on child maltreatment, including neglect, physical, sexual, and emotional abuse of children. The impact of maltreatment on victims and their families and treatments available for survivors, abusers and their families are also explored. This course is trauma focused. Physical indicators of child maltreatment and reporting are also presented. Students in the clinical social work focus area may take this course as an elective.
