Description
A one term course in Physical Chemistry with a focus on basic principles, using examples drawn from applications to
biological systems. It covers macroscopic, statistical, and microscopic descriptions of matter. An emphasis is placed on
thermodynamics, chemical and physical equilibria, transport properties, and kinetics. The laboratory emphasizes
experimental design and independent research. Prerequisites: CHE 114 and PHY 202. Recommended: MAT 216, 190.
