Description
Overview of linguistics. Students will explore the mysteries of human language. How do children learn to speak? What
should teachers know about language? How are language and culture intertwined? Where do dialects come from?
What causes language disorders? Future teachers, students of English, healthcare and service providers, and anyone
who wonders about the way languages work would benefit from this course. Prerequisite: ENG 120.
