Description

In this theory course, the student is introduced to major actions and
general classifications of pharmacologic agents. Pathophysiological
concepts are reviewed and the relationships between
pathophysiology and treatment are examined. Evidence-based
practices, including rationale for specific drug use for certain
situations, are stressed. The nurse?s role and responsibilities are
explored, including appropriate assessments in administering
medications to patients across the lifespan. The impact of age,
co-morbidities, medications, and social issues also are addressed.
Prerequisites: NUR 320, NUR 321, NUR 322.
