Description

In this theory course, the student is introduced to the knowledge
and skills needed by the professional nurse to provide quality,
accessible, and cost-effective family-centered nursing care of
women and childbearing families. Emphasis is given to the nurse?s
role in management and coordination of culturally competent,
evidence-based care for women during the childbearing years
through menopause, including care for newborns and families.
Attention is given to the nurse?s role in promoting and maintaining
physiologic, psychosocial, and spiritual health of women across the
lifespan, continuum of care, and within the sociopolitical
environment. Prerequisites: NUR 311, NUR 320, NUR 321, NUR 322, NUR
331, NUR 335. Prerequisite or concurrent enrollment: NUR 354, NUR 357.
