Description

In this practicum course, the advanced nurse apprentice is challenged to manage the care of groups of patients and families with actual and potential complex health needs. The student will demonstrate safe, competent, professional nursing practice in preparation for the transition from student to professional nurse and post-baccalaureate study. Emphasis is placed on evidencebased guidelines, clinical reasoning, and collaboration. In this
capstone clinical experience, students will be expected to integrate knowledge and experience from the liberal arts, as well as the natural, applied, and nursing sciences. Prerequisites: NUR 311, NUR 320, NUR 321, NUR 322, NUR 331, NUR 335, NUR 350, NUR 351, NUR 353, NUR 354, NUR 355, NUR 357, NUR 430, NUR 431, NUR 432, NUR 433, NUR 435, NUR 437. Prerequisite or concurrent enrollment: NUR 450, NUR 451, NUR 452. (First offered spring 2011).
