Courses offered as “studies” provide an in-depth study of major political topic. The structure of the courses emphasizes critical examination of the different sides in the American political development. Topics might include: the examination of the role of the American “myth” and the founding narrative unifying a diverse people, the rise and falls of political parties, or the evolution of the size and role of government. The course may be offered in a variety of formats. The online format requires participation in a mandatory orientation.
