Description
The course examines the nature and process of reading, including objectives, methods, materials, and techniques for the teaching of reading. Emphasis will be placed on a balanced approach to reading instruction, and the integration of reading, writing, and language arts into the curriculum for emergent, developmental and fluent readers and writers. Students will be introduced to the use of authentic assessment tools and procedures and developmentally appropriate practice.
